Exploring Sydney

From Airlie Beach we flew to Sydney and spent there the last five days of our trip.

We stayed in the Meriton Hotel at Bondi Junction and there was a big shopping mall and a subway station next to the hotel which was super nice. I can really recommend the hotel because the rooms were all apartment suites and they were big and modern, they had such nice staff and the location was bomb.

The first days we were shopping and relaxing at Bondi Beach and Jesse went surfing almost every day. He became a real surfholic and is still talking about surfing every day. I really enjoyed Bondi Beach even though it was pretty crowded but it didn’t bother me. You could easily take a bus to the beach and it costed like 1,50€ one-way from the Bondi Junction.

On our second last day we took a subway and went to the City Center to visit the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. After the sightseeing we walked back to the center and shopped there for a while. If you ever go to Australia you have to go to a vegan fast-food restaurant called Lord of the Fries. They have the best vegan burgers I have ever tasted, especially their Phish burger was my favourite. They have restaurants at least in Sydney and in Surfers Paradise.

On the last evening we went for dinner to Watsons Bay and we also went to see the famous Gap which is an ocean cliff where the British who were the first foreign people ever entering Australia sailed through.

On the last day we did the last shopping and then it was time to go to the airport. I was kind of sad the whole trip was ending, but it was nice to go home after five months abroad. I was so excited to finally see my friends and family. The flight went well and it took us 24 hours to get back home to freezing Finland. But I had really missed my beautiful and unique homeland Finland ♡
