Dolphin watching and snorkeling in Lovina

My boyfriend has finally arrived to Bali and we had a full timetable booked for us!

On Monday morning we drove to Ubud and spent there one night, we went to the rice terrace, Ubud market and Kanto Lampo waterfall. On Tuesday afternoon we continued our trip to the north of Bali, Lovina. I haven’t been there before so it was something new to me as well. We took a Grab from Ubud and the drive took about two and a half hours.

When we arrived to Lovina we grabbed some dinner and went to sleep because we had an early morning ahead of us. The next morning it was time to go see some dolphins. We woke up five o’clock in the morning and met our captain who took us out to the sea with his boat to see the dolphins. We booked the trip from our hotel My Lovina and it cost us 150k and it included a snorkeling trip as well.

The dolphins were amazing and we saw so many. Our captain said that we were lucky because there wasn’t usually that many dolphins. They were jumping from the water and swimming really close to the boats. It was a dream come true to see a dolphin in the wild.

Then we went snorkeling and the reef was actually pretty nice. We didn’t have any expectations about the snorkeling because we didn’t know that you could do that in Lovina but we were positively surprised. There was a lot of fish and statues etc in the bottom of the ocean. I can really recommend the dolphin trip and then to go snorkeling.

We were back at our hotel at ten o’clock and we showered and went to have some brunch. Then we packed our things and went to the Aling-Aling waterfall. We had only one hour left to spend at the waterfall because we had ordered transportation back to Ubud at three o’clock. So we only paid the entrance fee which was 20k if we would have wanted to swim there or jump from the “towers” we should have had a guide with us and that kind of ticket would have cost 125k per person. But unfortunately we didn’t have time for all that but next time for sure!

Then it was time to go back to Ubud and when we arrived there it was time to drive back to Canggu. Next morning we had an early morning again because we were headed to the Gili Islands.
